Turkey failed coup attempt 260 dead, 1,440 injured. Over 6,000 arrested

The failed Turkish coup attempt which overturned within 10 hours leaving 260 people dead, 1,440 people  injured. Over 6,000 people reported to

 be arrested including 

thousands of soldiers and several military commanders in connection with the coup attempt. 

About 2,750 judges were fired for alleged links to the coup including two constitutional court judges who are detained. 

European Union Commissioner 

Gunther Oettinger warned 

Turkey against exploiting the failing coup to further restrict democratic freedoms. 

Jean Marc Ayrault the

 French Foreign Minister also warned Turkey leader against using attempt to silent opponents.

 

Turkish president blames the reclusive cleric Fethullah Gulen for the failed coup. 

But Gulen rejects the accusations.
