South Africa ruling party ANC leading with 50%

South Africa ruling party Africa National Congress (ANC) was leading

 its rivals as the vote counting proceeded

 in local government elections.

The ANC could see it lose

 control of key cities for the first time since 

coming to power.

 Despite the challenge so far with a quarter of

 the votes in so far the ANC lead with 50

 percent against 34 percent

 for the democratic 

Alliance (DA).
