UAE urges men to avoid wearing white robes, head scarfs and headbands when travelling abroad

The United Arab Emirates has urged its men avoiding traveling abroad wearing the white robes, head scarfs

and headbands of the national dress. This warns came after a businessman visited to US 

was wrestled to the ground and held as an Islamic State suspect.

 The man was reported to be detained in

 Avon, Ohio last week after a female clerk at local hotel called 911 reported described a man 

affiliated to IS. 

Foreign Ministry twitted message said "for citizens traveling abroad, in order 

to ensure their safety, 

we point out not to wear formal dress while traveling, especially in public places". 

The message Foreign Ministry also urged citizens to abide by 

the laws of the countries they visit.
